IMMEDDIATE HELP
The Navigator's Desk

One object found in a backpack, pocket, or locker can quickly lead to suspension, expulsion proceedings, law enforcement involvement, or other serious consequences.
These situations can affect your child's educational future. Time matters. Before making statements, signing documents, or accepting disciplinary outcomes, it may be in your child's best interest to consult an attorney asap to help protect their legal rights and future educational options.

There May Be More Options Than You Were Told.
If you were told your school does not have another placement option for your child, don't assume the conversation is over.
Schools have a responsibility to consider placements that meet a student's individual needs—not simply the programs that are easiest to provide.
Before accepting "we don't have that here" as the final answer, make sure you understand every option that may be available.
